About this website

This website exists because I suddenly realised that the majority of my photos contained either insects or steps / staircases. In fact, I have been known to do a little dance (sometimes only in my head) if I see a set of steps I hadn’t noticed before.

The majority of the photos have been taken on a digital camera, but some were taken with a film camera. I have cropped / converted some to black and white or adjusted some curves in Adobe Lightroom, but that’s about all the manipulation I have done. Some of my photos are better quality either from a technical or a composition point of view. But they all find a place here on my website.

Most will be taken somewhere around Northamptonshire because that is where I have lived for the last twenty five years or so.

The name of my website is a nod to my northern roots and my late Auntie Kath who I remember saying ‘I’ll go to the foot of our stairs’, amongst other things.
